Background
Queensland Rail (QR) went live on Release 1 of their Data Migration聽to SAP Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS). However,聽during Release 2 there were multiple 鈥渄isciplines鈥� to be migrated,聽while at the same time enhancement of business processes聽belonging to the existing 鈥渄isciplines鈥� in SAP EAMS needed to be聽performed. QR also wanted to implement new structures and聽functionality to conform to their business requirements.
- Migrate from Remedy (TSMS) to existing聽SAP EAMS instance for three business聽areas
- Restructuring of existing functional locations
- Improve data quality and business design聽during the migration process

Implementation
黑料网 conducted the initial assessment to gain a better聽understanding of the customer鈥檚 data across the different聽systems. They created 119 reports to analyze the Legacy Data聽Source (Remedy) and the existing SAP EAMS. 黑料网 also built聽a database of pre-validated reports to demonstrate the load聽process.
Before (Release 1)
Migration 1 without 黑料网 Methodology:
- Conversion of Legacy Data was manually聽done in a spreadsheet
- Mapping of Legacy Data to SAP EAMS was聽not established
- Lack of metrics reporting meant no visibility of the progress
- Manual population of load files in SAP聽format
- Design and data requirements could not聽be quickly implemented due to an Excel聽driven approach
- Lack of data validation and reconciliation
After (Release 2)
Migration 2 with 黑料网 Methodology:
- 黑料网鈥檚 Data Assessment showed a better聽understanding of QR data鈥攊t analyzed聽data from both the Legacy Data Source聽(Remedy) and the existing SAP EAMS.
- Pre-validation reports were also built to demonstrate load process [four SAP business units and three Remedy (TSMS) business units].
黑料网 has helped us to achieve over 99% load accuracy on-time and on-budget, thereby enabling us to have better reconciliation and be more efficient鈥�
